AUGUSTA — Holly Daigle has stepped down as coach of the Cony field hockey team, the athletic program announced Monday.

Daigle, Cony’s coach since 2010, was three-time Kennebec Journal Coach of the Year (2013, 2015, 2018) as well as the Varsity Maine Coach of the Year in 2023. The Rams’ 2023 squad won the Class B North title, the program’s first regional crown in 28 years.

“Holly was the field hockey program at Cony for the last bunch of years,” said Cony athletic director T.J. Maines. “She set a standard for the girls to compete, be physical and be ready to play, and her teams were skilled and displayed good leadership and good teamwork. Daigle played at Cony, graduating in 1999. Prior to becoming head coach, she spent three years as an assistant coach for the Rams under her predecessor, Krista Chase, who is now the coach at Mt. Ararat.
